Am I Called?

God created you as a uniquely beloved person. Your uniqueness is both a gift and a call, a grace and a responsibility. It would be accurate to say, “You are a word of God which God is speaking now.” Holiness is the journey of discovering and becoming that word which God is speaking. It is a journey to loving union with God.

It will be your delight (and God’s, too) to discover where and how you can become who you truly are. It may be in marriage or the single life. Or it may be in a life of consecration as a vowed member of a religious community. You will need tools for discernment on this journey. The first tool is to know yourself and to discover the word God is speaking in and through you. If you are called to religious life you will find a desire for the love of God to be central in your life and you will have a desire to love and serve God’s people. Begin with knowing yourself.
