Qualities of a Sister

Are you called to be a face of God’s Providence for the world? Here are some qualities of a Sister of Divine Providence for you to consider as you think about your call:

• love and trust of God who knows our needs and cares for us
• reliance on God as the source of our security
• living the gospel and embracing the sacraments as sources of grace and strength
• ability to accept both joy and sorrow as gifts given to draw us to God’s love
• simplicity of lifestyle
• openness to discovering and responding generously to the needs of the world
• living harmoniously in community
• consecration to God through vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience
• capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and to move to new places as needs arise
• sufficient physical and mental health to be involved in ministry

It sounds like a lot, but we are merely on the way to living these ideals.
