Our spiritual life is a faithful, attentive response to the design and call of Providence present at the very center of life itself. A Providence Spirituality is a life grounded in the attitude that Jesus himself took toward life; he embraced the present moment and trusted in the love and mercy of God. As Sisters of Divine Providence, we are called to live our lives in the same way, with trust that God will provide for us and for the needs of those we serve.
Our founder, Jean Martin, challenged us to Providence Spirituality by allowing four fundamental virtues to guide our lives: Poverty, Simplicity, Apostolic Charity and Abandonment to Divine Providence. These virtues give dynamism to our life of faith and are essential to our charism of Providence.
“God‘s Providence governs all things, provides for everything, arranges everything, and turns everything to good.”
Blessed John Martin Moye, Founder of the Sisters of Divine Providence
