Associate Membership

CDP Associates are men and women of all ages, cultures and diverse life situations. They desire to be witnesses of God’s Provident Love in relationship with the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence.

Associate Members are called to live their family, social, professional and political commitments in the spirit of the gospel              Donna Esposito, Director           and according to the way of life discerned by John Martin Moye, the founder.  An associate is called into a Providence relationship within one's particular life style and does not profess vows. 

Associates and sisters are beneficiaries of a spirituality, drawing its richness from the four fundamental virtues, or energies, of Divine Providence — Simplicity, Poverty, Charity and Abandonment to Providence.  Associates and sisters share in the mission, vision, and spiritual life of Providence through prayer, ministry, relationship, celebration and works of love, especially for the poor and those who cannot help themselves.

The works of associates are many and as varied as there are associates.  Some associates do parish/ecumenical work; others work directly with the poor through civic and church agencies; some do a phone ministry or a ministry of writing.

As Providence Associates, our spirituality is rooted in our experience of God.  The face of Providence is the face of God warming us with a glance that communicates an ever-faithful, tender love.  This face of God invites us to respond with a gift of self that is filled with love and gratitude.  Its assurance leads us to risk all in trust and confidence.  We strive to be the face of God's Providence for others and for creation.

                      Letting God loose in our lives:  that is what Providence is!
