Retreats and Sponsored Programs 2010

                     The Gathering
"An Invitation to Prayer, Hope, Union
A Retreat with Julian of Norwich"
September 18, 2010 - Presenter Sr. Fidelis Tracy, CDP
Julian of Norwich is a 14th century mystic who addresses God as "courteous Lord" and Jesus as "our mother".  She found God's love revealed in an object as small as a hazelnut and questions God about the possibility of eternal punishment.  Ultimately she heard God's assurance "All shall be well, all shall be very well, all manner of thing shall be well".  We will pray with passages from her writings and hopefully come to join her in delighting in God and hoping for the all that will be well.

                      The Gathering
"Winter Solstice"
November 13, 2010 - Presenter Karen Ander Francis, ACDP
Winter Solstice marks the planet's annual re-turn toward the Sun. During autumn, days shorten and nights lengthen as the Northern Hemisphere reaches the farthest point away from the source of its life and light.  Much of the darkest time occurs in Advent as we prepare for Christmas, the celebration of the return of Light to the world.

During this Gathering, participants will enter into the spirit of Winter Solstice as Keren leads participants in reflecting on Advent themes of light and dark.  She will also help them explore the ways in which they, like Mary so long ago, are being invited to bring the Light and Life of Christ into our world now.

To register: email moyecenter@cdpkentucky.org or phone 859-441-0700 Ext. 325 no later than one week prior.
