WHO ARE WE?
We are women and men who live our baptism according to the evangelical intuition of Jean Martin Moye. As Associates, we desire to take this Gospel path which calls us to base our lives on the tenderness of our Provident God who cares for each person.
We live in close communion with the Sisters of Divine Providence of Saint Jean de Bassel, founded by Jean Martin Moye. With them and with the other Congregations and Associate groups issued from Jean Martin, we form an evangelical Family of Providence and desire to live this in loving solidarity. Jesus Christ is the Source of our communion.
“Do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you are to wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds in the air. They do not sow or reap, they gather nothing in barns...Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.” (Matthew 6:25-33)
These words of Jesus Christ are the reference of our spiritual life. We desire to base our lives on the Providence of God. In order to be attentive to God’s calls and to respond to them with an ever renewed spirit, Jean Martin Moye impels us to live abandonment, poverty, simplicity, and charity. These fundamental virtues, these energies of the Spirit which dwell in us, are the four columns of a life of Providence.
To live faith in the tenderness of God and to make the face of Providence present in society and in the Church—this is our mission as disciples of Jesus Christ. We are called to be the hands of Providence. Following Jean Martin, we pay particular attention to youth, to persons who are
victims of ignorance which imprisons and excludes them.
